With the never-ending downward spiral that has become American manufacturing and the jobs related to manufacturing, there has been a recent groundswell towards re-emphasizing the value in - and importance of - choosing American-made products over foreign-made products whenever possible; and this extends to the HVAC industry as well.
Carrier- perhaps the best-known brand around - has made news lately, yet not necessarily for positive reasons; the company recently announced that they’ll soon be shipping 1,400 jobs from Indiana to Mexico, which means that most of those American workers will soon be out of a job. Carrier may be known for a past of creating quality products, but there’s no telling what this decision will mean for the future of the company or the quality of equipment it manufactures. While it is possible that there will be no long-term impact on Carrier as a company from this decision, nor any significant drop-off in the quality of their soon-to-be foreign-made products, these assurances won’t help the 1,400 soon-to-be unemployed Americans sleep better at night, or take care of their families.
At Princeton Air, we care greatly about supporting companies that contribute to stabilizing the American work-force, and US economy by extension; which is just one of the many reasons that we proud to sell and install Trane and Lennox home comfort products.
Why American Made Products?
There’s no getting around the fact that the HVAC industry is changing & evolving at a rapid pace. With these changes has come a great deal of improvement, but the shift in how heating and cooling systems are manufactured, and the costs involved in manufacturing, has caused many companies to outsource jobs overseas. Understandably, there is no doubt that this has had an effect on local business and job creation throughout the country and every industry therein; and for those looking to purchase American-made home comfort equipment, options are beginning to run slim.
This helps justify why we choose to work with Lennox and Trane products as our primary offerings. Lennox has its headquarters in Richardson, Texas, and has manufacturing plants in Arkansas & Iowa. Trane is also based out of Texas, and has manufacturing plants in 7 US states - including right down the street in Trenton, New Jersey! Keeping production local and/or in America benefits both the products and the communities surrounding their manufacturer, creating jobs and strengthening the economies of cities like Trenton.
As we’ve mentioned before, local business supports the local economy, resulting in job creation. Trane and Lennox have placed a great deal of focus on this need for many years. Buying American-made products is the best way to support the future growth of our economy, and its importance should never be overlooked.
Princeton Air Installs Trane or Lennox HVAC System
While it makes us and our customers feel great knowing that our products are manufactured within the US, the quality of their HVAC equipment is precisely why we choose to sell & install it initially, and are proud that these have always been & still remain our “go-to” lines since the 1970’s!!!
The more jobs we can keep in America, the better; Trane and Lennox are doing their part— and you can, too.
