Expansion of Trane® / Mitsubishi SMART MULTI® Heat Pumps

The expansion of the Trane® / Mitsubishi SMART MULTI® line of heat pumps is a leap forward in climate control technology ideal for residential and light commercial installations. With improved SEER ratings and the ability to control these heat pumps with Trane Link and the Trane Home app, Trane® / Mitsubishi SMART MULTI® heat pumps are at the forefront of energy efficiency. 

A standout feature is their unique variable speed technology. Unlike traditional heat pump systems that operate at a limited number of set speeds, these new models can adjust to over 700 speeds. This capability allows the system to fine-tune its output to the exact requirements of the moment, ensuring optimal comfort and reducing energy consumption.

Installation Made Easier in Tight Spaces

These new 6-, 8-, and 10-ton outdoor units have been engineered to allow for multiple configurations when it comes to installation. With access to the front, bottom, right, or back for piping, the Trane® / Mitsubishi SMART MULTI® heat pumps can be installed in tighter and more advantageous locations, and are ideal for homes, one- to three-story multifamily buildings, churches, offices, and other commercial buildings.

Updates to Climate-Responsible Climate Control

In addition to updates to their heat pump products, Trane is also updating the refrigerant used in their IntelliPak 1, IntelliPak 2, and Voyager 3 rooftop units. These units now use next-generation low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant, R-454B. This new refrigerant is poised to replace traditional options, reducing GWP by a staggering 78%. This significant reduction is a part of Trane's commitment to decrease the environmental impact of their products and align with forthcoming federal regulations set to reshape the industry, and is far ahead of the implementation of these regulations

Trane has also integrated state-of-the-art Refrigerant Detection System technology into these new heat pump models. With factory-installed sensors and mitigation panels, these systems offer unprecedented safety levels, ensuring that your home remains a safe environment for your family.
