On Thursday, May 11, The Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce held the 2017 Independent Business Summit: Perspectives to Success at The College of New Jersey. This conference was led by Michele Siekerka, who is the President & CEO of the New Jersey Business & Industry. The audience got to hear from 5 successful panelists, Scott Needham, President of Princeton Air, Cody & Sage Disch, Co-Founders of Ace & Everett, Jessica Durrie, Co-Founder of Small World Coffee, and Peter Dawson, Owner of Leigh Visual Imaging Solutions. The panelists addressed many of the topics that independent businesses face, which includes acquiring start-up capital & cash flow challenges, attracting & maintaining a capable workforce, identifying a target market, creating a strategic plan, along with marketing & social media strategies. They explained what it was like to start a business and how to keep that business running smoothly and effectively.
Furthermore, Tamara Jacobs, who is the President & Founder of Tamara Jacobs Communications, Inc. was the keynote speaker for this event. She is an executive coach to Fortune 500 CEOs, an entrepreneur, and the author of “Your Ultimate Success Plan”. She provided valuable insight how to stand out from your predecessors, how to build personal brand equity, along with sharing different ways how business owners can set themselves apart and communicate their brand and services with authenticity and authority.
