On Thursday 3/30/17, Princeton Air’s President, Scott Needham, visited Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ and was a guest speaker on the succession planning process and the complexities of family business dynamics as it relates to planning, sustainability and estate planning. He spoke with students in Dr. Ron Cook’s family business management class (part of the Entrepreneurial Studies major) which just finished a section on succession planning. He got into detail about where Princeton Air came from and how they have evolved into the company they are today. In specifics, he presented and discussed the nuances of how Princeton Air has diligently:
1. Managed their first generational transition
2. Measured & Managed owner dependence on the operation
3. Fostered and built strong Leadership & support Teams
4. Focused on growth and sustainability
5. Continued to evaluate and course correct on the Company’s relative performance
Scott gave the students a “real world” example and model of how a company progresses, stays innovative, and grows over time with proper leadership and planning to allow the business to prosper in the long term.
